Frequently Asked Questions
How can I determine how long it will be until the correct time for an epiphyseodesis?
You can't. The Straight Line Graph doesn't deal with time. You can get an idea of how many skeletal years it will be, but this doesn't translate dependably into calendar years.
Is it reliable to use assessments that are very close together in time?
No. An error in measurement of only a millimeter or two can throw the determination of growth rate off significantly. It is best to accumulate assessments over at least two years.
